How to export Gemini conversations
- Open takeout.google.com, click Deselect all and tick My Activity.
- Click Multiple formats and set Activity records to JSON. Click All activity data included and keep only Gemini Apps.
- Create the export, download the ZIP when Google emails you, and drop it above.
What to expect
Google Takeout stores Gemini activity as a list of prompts and responses, without the chat each one belonged to. The viewer groups them by day so they read like conversations. Formatting in responses (lists, bold, code) is converted to Markdown.
Gemini support is experimental: Google changes the Takeout format from time to time.

Why are Gemini chats grouped by day?
Takeout records each prompt and response with a time stamp but not the conversation it belonged to, so grouping by day is the closest reconstruction.

Not yet — please export My Activity as JSON (step 2 above).
Is it safe to open my chat export here?
Yes. The file is read locally by your browser; it is never sent to a server. The site has no login and stores nothing about your chats.
